Chargers Drop Two to Open Florida Play

   Vero Beach, FL – Ancilla College dropped its first two games on its spring break trip to Florida.  The Chargers lost the opener at Jackie Robinson Baseball Complex to College of Lake County 12-5 and the second game 17-7.

   Anthony Reyes led the Ancilla offensive attack. He drove in two runs and scored one himself. He was left on base twice. Emitt Zimmerman, Taylor Faust and Hayden Maples each had an RBI. The chargers left 14 runners on base. 

Zach Woods took the loss on the mound as he lasted three and a third innings giving up six hits and striking out three. Ancilla is spending their Spring Break in Florida and have five games and several practices scheduled.

 Game two

  College of Lake County used a seven run sixth inning to take the nightcap 17-7, after Ancilla had closed to within 10-7 in top of the inning. The game went just six innings.

  Emitt Zimmerman and Jordan Garcia each had a pair of RBI's for the Chargers. Garcia and Tyler Holford each had a double and Zimmerman and Daniel Wright both had two hits. Ancilla had 10 hits in the contest.

  Starter Weston Record got the loss giving up five runs and four hits in his only inning. The Chargers used four pitchers in the contest with Zach DeBaets getting the majority of time on the mound.

  Ancilla has three games remaining on their southern trip.
