The Marian University Ancilla baseball team had a historic season, setting the program record for wins in a single season. With that said, the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) took notice, naming three Chargers to their all-conference teams.

Sophomore catcher Austin Hear took home the highest honor, as he was named to the top MCCAA All-Conference Team. Because of that, he was also named to the MCCAA Western Conference 1st Team. The McCordsville, Indiana, product was outstanding at the plate, hitting .418, with 10 doubles, 2 triples, and a home run, while driving in 32 runs in just 33 games played. Despite missing just over 10 games on the year, and an ailment limiting his time behind the plate, Hear still managed to throw out 14 base-runners attempting to steal.

Sophomore shortstop Conner Boone and Sophomore starting pitcher Nathan Marshman each earned a spot on the MCCAA Western Conference Honorable Mention Team for their play during the 2024 season.

Boone, who came to MUAC from Frankfort, Indiana, was steady in the field and at the plate, but it was his work on the basepaths that stood out most. He swiped 26 bases on the season in just 29 attempts, setting up a number of scoring opportunities for the Chargers. Boone also posted a .317 batting average, with 8 doubles, a triple, and he drove in 29 runs.

Marshman started all 12 games he saw action in on the hill, topping the Chargers with 60.2 innings pitched. He finished with a 5-7 record, a 1.60 WHIP, plus he completed 2 of his 12 starts. The Sophomore from nearby North Liberty, Indiana, also had a positive strikeout to walk ratio of 35 Ks to 30 BBs.

The entire Athletic Department at MUAC would like to congratulate these three student-athletes on a successful season, both on and off the field, and we wish them all a great deal of luck as they move on to their next opportunities!!
