Hot Shooting 1st Half Not Enough As Chargers Fall To Lake Michigan

The MU Ancilla Men's Basketball Team hit the road to take on Lake Michigan needing a win to keep control of their own destiny in the MCCAA Western Conference playoff race.  Unfortunately, it was the Red Hawks who used a huge second half to take a 90-81 win over the Chargers.

The game started out quick for MU Ancilla as they used hot shooting and strong defense, ultimately closing the first half with a 36-31 lead of Lake Michigan.  The second half belonged to the Red Hawks as they outscored the Chargers 59-45 to take the win.

MU Ancilla was led by KeAndre Nelson with 19 points on 6-13 shooting which included 4-7 from the 3-point line.  Jo Coleman followed with 17 points on 7-16 shooting which included 3-7 from the 3-point line.  Jonah Pennington and Zach Dutton finished with 11 points each while Willie Reese rounded out the double-digit scoring with 10 points.

With the loss, the Chargers fall to 12-11 on the season and 4-7 in the MCCAA Western Conference.  The Chargers will need to win on Tuesday against Kellogg and will need some help from both Lake Michigan and Lansing who will have to beat Southwestern Michigan College in order for the Chargers to get in to the Region XII playoffs.

Tip-off for Tuesday's game will be 7:30 at home.
