Last week was an exciting time for the Marian Ancilla Men's Soccer team, and the beginning of this week got even better. Two Chargers were honored for their play from 10/7 through 10/13, as they helped the navy & gold to a pair of victories, first over Terra State on Wednesday, 6-1, then at Jackson on Saturday, 2-0.
Redshirt Freshman Trent Platz was named the MCCAA Goalie of the Week, as he saved 9 of 10 shots on goal during the week, including being a major factor in the shutout on Saturday afternoon. The 6-6 goalkeeper came to MUAC from New Prairie High School, and he is enjoying an excellent season in front of the net, following a 2023 unfortunately lost to injury.
True Freshman Bawi Za Sang was named the MCCAA Player of the Week, as he collected 9 points on 4 goals and an assist. 3 of those 4 goals came during his second hat trick of the season in Wednesday's victory. The 5-4 midfielder came to MUAC from Perry Meridian High School, and he has been electric all over the field, leading the team in goals (9) and points (20).
