Jonathan Wiggins and Nathan Samuels had a personal battle on Saturday as the two led the Ancilla College men in the combined Michigan Community College Athletic Association and National Junior College Athletic Association Region 12 tournament. Wiggins edged Samuels by just under four seconds. They will get to battle again, as both will be heading to the NJCAA Division II Men's Cross Country National Championship on November 11 in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Wiggins (29:33.2) placed 20th and Samuels (29:37.1) was 21st in Region 12, and 21st, and 22nd, respectively in the MCCAA.
Kelsey Brown (30:18.8) was 28th, with Jayquan Head claiming 48th and Matthew Markovitz (35:06.40) placing 52th. Jacob Wood (36:50.6) was 55th.
