Chargers Fall Twice at Lansing

Chargers Fall Twice at Lansing

If one thing has been consistent for the Marian University Ancilla softball team, it is that nothing has been consistent. The weather has been the cause of a number of postponements, and the roster has seen its share of injuries and newcomer fill-ins. Sunday, the team traveled to Lansing Community College, where they were greeted with an offensive ambush by the Stars, falling 18-0 and 12-0 in the double-header, both 5-inning contests. Below is a quick look at some highlights from the day in Lansing.

Game-1 (L 18-0): The Stars amassed 18 runs on 14 hits, and they received a perfect 3.0 innings from starter Kyra Shadduck (13-4), who also struck out 4 batters. Freshman Samantha Perry had the lone Charger hit, as she knocked a 1-out double to center field in the top of the 5th inning. Freshman pitcher Samantha Hoffman (1-6) was the recipient of the loss.

Game-2 (L 12-0): The Stars used 15 walks and 10 hits in this one to score their 12 runs. Charger Freshmen Alyssa Mulbarger and Samantha Hoffman were each responsible for the two Charger hits in this one, both singles. Freshman pitcher Abby Witt (0-2) picked up the loss for the Chargers.

Please stay tuned to social media, as the MUAC softball team continues to work through it's rescheduled postponements over the next couple of weeks.
