Alessandra Lozano, a freshman midfielder from Goshen, IN and Goshen HS, was named the first Female Athlete of the Week for her play during the week of August 22-August 27.  Lozano found the back of the net for the 1st goal of the Women's Soccer season which came in a 3-1 loss to Lake Michigan College.  Alessandra is part of a huge freshman class that has joined the Lady Charger program and is looking to help build the program under Head Coach Kalen Saddler.

When asked how her adjustment to college soccer has gone so far, Lozano complimented her team.  "We are a very unique and diverse team that is very competitive but also supportive of each other.  This has helped me transition to college much easier than I expected."  In addition, she also talked about team goals that have been set.  "We are working hard each week to improve both individually and also as a team.  If we can do that, the wins will come to us."

The Chargers will return to the field on Saturday when they will travel to Schoolcraft College for a 1:00 start.
