Home court was not necessarily an advantage for the Marian Ancilla Volleyball team Tuesday night, as they had a tough time with MCCAA foe Kellogg Community College, falling 3-0 (25-14, 25-5, 25-9). With the loss, the Chargers now move to 1-13 (0-5 MCCAA) on the season, while Kellogg (15-4, 4-1) is one game out of first place in the Western Division.
The Chargers came out aggressive and caused problems early for Kellogg. However, the Bruins were able to respond quickly, taking control of the first set, and ultimately the match.
MUAC Redshirt Freshman Kylee Saylor continued her strong play of late, leading the team in hitting (.273). Freshman Emma LaPato was very good defensively, handling 20 serve-receive chances with only 3 errors. Sophomore Brooke Schroeder was also good on defense, as she tallied 14 serve-receive attempts to go along with 13 digs.
The Chargers head to Kalamazoo Valley next, as they seek their first MCCAA win of the year. The matchup is scheduled for this Thursday, October 3rd, with the first serve set to take place at 6:30 pm. Please come out and support the Chargers, if you are able!!
