Chargers Fall to League Leader Lansing

Chargers Fall to League Leader Lansing

The Volleyball season is quickly winding down, and Tuesday evening the Marian Ancilla Chargers hosted the Lansing Stars. Lansing entered the night 20-5 overall and 9-0 in the MCCAA. They ended the night with a 3-0 victory over the Chargers (25-9, 25-7, 25-14).

Freshman Torie Davis (.667) and Redshirt Freshman Kylee Saylor (.500) led the Chargers with outstanding hitting numbers, while Sophomore Brooke Schroeder played 32 serve-receive attempts with just a single error on the evening.

Head Coach Heaven Donovan was impressed with Lansing, but felt the Chargers did some nice things as well. "Lansing is an offensively elite team. They are at the top of the conference for a reason, and they run a high-speed offense. Our ladies played solidly throughout the match, but Lansing was just faster and knew how to pinpoint our flaws. However, our ladies made sure to run down every ball and made Lansing work for the win."

The Marian Ancilla Volleyball team has two matches remaining this season, and they could use your support to finish out the year. Friday, they travel to Kellogg Community College for a 6:30 p.m. first serve against the Bruins, then Tuesday they finish the year with SOPHOMORE NIGHT!! Please come out and support this Sophomore group as they play on final time at the LifePlex against Kalamazoon Valley Community College, also at 6:30 p.m.!!
