Men's Basketball Splits Two Games At St. Clair Tournament

The MU Ancilla Men's Basketball Team made the long journey north to compete in the St. Clair Tournament and came away with 1 win and 1 loss on the weekend to move their overall record to 6-2 on the season.  The Chargers started the weekend off with a tough 80-54 loss to a very strong Mid Michigan CC team.  Mid Michigan jumped out to a 41-30 lead at the half and dominated the 2nd half 39-24 to win going away.  The Chargers were led by Maurice Russell who finished with 15 points.  Ben Jones and KeAndre Nelson joined Russell in double figures with 11 and 10 points respectively.

On Saturday, the Chargers looked to bounce back in a big way against Alpena CC and they did exactly that, finishing with an 85-71 win.  MU Ancilla came out firing on offense, jumping out to a 50-27 lead at the half.  The Chargers were able to play all 12 players in each half to continue to build depth.  KeAndre Nelson's hot shooting led the way as he scored 27 points on just 14 points which included an amazing 7-8 performance from the 3 point line.  Maurice Russell added 12 points and Willie Reece rounded out double digit scorers with 12 points.

MU Ancilla will return to action on December 7th when they will take on the Grace College JV followed by a December 8th home game against CBG Prep.
