Kirk Weiss Named Head Men's Soccer Coach

In one of his last major decisions before departing Marian University Ancilla for the University of Hawaii Pacific, Athletic Director Brian Pearison has hired Kirk Weiss to take over the Men's Soccer program from Tyler Born.  Born led the team to the Region Tournament in his one season as the head coach.

Coach Weiss is no stranger to the college or the campus.  Kirk is a 2013 graduate of Ancilla College where he earned an Associates of Science in Business Administration.  He was also an assistant coach for the men's program for five seasons while also assisting with the men's basketball team.

Weiss has a strong connection to MU Ancilla, a place where he met his wife, Dianna.  "MU Ancilla is a special place to me and to my family.  I earned a degree here, I met my wife here, and I am an example of how MU Ancilla can help grow young adults into productive members of society and the local community."

Brian Pearison is excited to add an alum to the MU Ancilla coaching staff.  "The search committee was very impressed with Kirk and his strong connection to our campus.  I believe he has the work ethic to keep our Men's Soccer program moving forward.  Our men advanced to the Region Tournament and had a strong showing in the MCCAA this year.  Kirk has very high goals and I look forward to following the progress of the program."

Coach Weiss has solid plans in place to get the program moving forward towards 2023.  "We have to recruit a lot of guys, guys who want to play collegiate soccer while also working towards their degree.  I want a team full of hard workers who will be productive in the campus community as well as the local community.  We will play an exciting brand of soccer which I think will help us attract quality players over the next few years.  I cannot wait to get started!"

Kirk Weiss and his wife Dianna have five daughters; Kailyn, Cierra, Katlyn, Kiley, and Kelsi.  They also have two grandchildren named Henry and Claire.
