Muskegon, MI -- Ancilla College's Brooklyn Schultz (Elkhart) dominated at the 2018 MCCAA/NJCAA Region 12 Women's Bowling Championship Friday to help lead Ancilla to the conference and regional championship and a berth in the National Junior College Athletic Association Women's Bowling National Championship in Cheektowaga, NY March 2-3. Ancilla beat second place Muskegon 8,496 to 7,876.
Schultz won the all-event title with a score of 1,604, she was second in the singles completion with a 569 to Muskegon's Jamie Perry's 645. Schultz and Alecia Albanese ((Griffith) captured the double event with a score of 1,190. Ancilla's Angelique McKeny (Hebron) and Megan Heflin (Dyer) were second in doubles with a 1,155 score.
Schultz, Heflin, McKeny, Albanese and Taylor Landes (Lafayette) were named to the All-Region team and All-MCCAA team. Taylor Ellison (Lafayette) was named all-MCCAA.
Coach Al Franklin was selected as the Coach of the Year for women's bowling. This is Franklin's second year as coach and the programs second year.
