Marian University’s Ancilla College is proud to announce the new Chargers Athletics logo. “The Chargers have proudly served 26 years as leaders on and off the playing field, securing national recognition in athletics and support through volunteering for organizations in Marshall County. This represents the continued evolution in purpose that the Chargers have been called for in their service to the community.” Director of Athletics, Brian Pearison said.
This new mark represents the mission of athletics for the university, which guided the decisions from the beginning when the Chargers were founded in 1996. “We feel this logo best showcases our dedication to developing transformational leaders. The energy in academic excellence and leadership is our guiding cause and truly shines.” Said Kalen Saddler, assistant athletics director.
The new logo is a modern and uncompromising take on the lightning bolt that has continued to represent the Chargers since it’s inception. Also enshrined in the design is the team’s name, the Chargers, a call back to the legacy and dedication to tradition that Marian University honors from Ancilla College.
Monday, March 2 marks the launch across social media and on the web. Plans are already underway to incorporate the brand into the Life Plex gymnasium, athletics uniforms, and on campus.
