Weekend Recap - Chargers Sports Complete Busy Weekend

In what turned out to be a very busy weekend for MU Ancilla Chargers sports, it was Women's Bowling who led the way with a 2nd place finish at the Kellogg Community College Invitational.  Men's Bowling, Wrestling, as well as Men's and Women's Basketball also competed over the weekend.

Women's Bowling

The Chargers Women's Bowling Team had their best showing of the season, earning 2nd place at the Kellogg Community College Invitational with a team score of 3,303 which followed only Jackson College who won the event.  A great team score is the result of strong individual performances and this day was no different.  Jasmine Huff led the way with a 5th place overall finish with a score of 491.  Her day was highlighted by a 2nd game score of 207 which earned her the top score of the tournament.  This was Huff's first career high score at a tournament.  Katherine Ford followed Huff with an 13th place finish with a score of 421.  Kayley Thornburg and Erin Stacy followed close behind in 15th and 16th place respectively with scores of 418 and 414.  Hope Walkowiak rounded out the Chargers' scoring with an 18th place finish with a score of 407.

Coach Chassity Masterson was very pleased with her team's performance and the growth they have shown so far this season.  "Having Jasmine earn the high score of the tournament is definitely a highlight for our team.  It was a tough task with a very tough oil pattern but Jasmine stuck with it and got herself dialed in.  I am proud of how the team stuck together and made a late push to move up from 3rd to 2nd place.  I think our best bowling is in front of us and I am excited to see us continue to make progress throughout the rest of the season."

Men's Bowling
