Nevitt Stops Skippers in Opener; Chargers Fall in Game Two

                 Plymouth, IN – Ancilla College (4-11) split its baseball home opener doubleheader with St. Clair County Community College on Friday.  The Charger took the opener 10-0 in five innings and dropped the second game 11-5 in the non-conference National Junior College Athletic Association contests.

                Austin Nevitt only allowed two hits, while collecting three strikeouts for the win in game one.  He improved to 2-1 on the season with the shutout.  Rylan Huntley led the team with three RBI, with Hayden Maples knocking in two runs. Both Huntley and Maples doubled in the game along with Jarrett Thomas. Ancilla scored six runs in the second inning to break the game open.

                St. Clair led 6-5 after four inning, but added five more in the sixth inning to take the victory. Ancilla (3-11) put together a five-run fourth inning, but could not catch the Skippers. Huntley added a pair of doubles for the Chargers, scored a run and knocked in another. Benicio Cardenas also doubled with a run scored and a RBI.

                Lenny Feckner (0-1) went three innings and gave up three runs in earning the loss.
