Sunday was the return trip to Donaldson, Indiana, for both the Marian University Ancilla baseball team and the Kellogg Community College Bruins. Despite playing on their own field, it wasn't much of a homecoming, as the Chargers fell 9-2 and 10-0 in the double-header. Below is a look at some highlights from Sunday's action at MUAC.

Game-1 (L 9-2): Both teams teased onlookers with base-runners in the 1st inning, but in the top of the 2nd, the Bruins finally broke through, utilizing 3 singles and an error to jump out to a 2-0 lead. The Bruins would once again hit pay dirt in the top of the 4th, as they led off with a walk, and then Kooper Etheridge blasted a 1-out home run to left field, extending Kellogg's lead to 4-0.

In the bottom of the inning, the Chargers reached on an error then a hit batsman, and Sophomore Hunter Smith drove a double to center field, scoring two runs, and the lead was cut in half at 4-2.

Kellogg used a single, a walk, and a double in the top of the 5th to jump out to a 6-2 advantage, then scored 3 more runs in the top of the 7th for the 9-2 final advantage. The Chargers were only able to reach safely via a walk and a double over the final three innings, but a double play erased one of those runners. Sophomore Nathan Marshman (4-5) took the loss, but he managed to pitch 6.1 innings into the contest.

Game-2 (L 10-0): The second game of the day was much less fun, as the Chargers surrendered 6 runs in the top of the 1st, falling 10-0 in a shortened 5-inning matchup. Bruin pitchers David Zilch (2-1) and Drew Ferguson combined to allow just 4 hits and a walk, while striking out 5 batters. Charger Sophomore Nolan Green (0-4) was credited with the loss.

MUAC Sophomore Austin Hear was 2-for-2 on the day, both singles, as Marian Ancilla placed 6 runners aboard via 5 singles and a walk.

The Charger baseball team is back in action this Thursday and Saturday for a 4-game series against Lake Michigan College. Thursday's games will be in Benton Harbor, Michigan, with start times of 2:00 and 4:30 p.m. ET. Marian Ancilla will then host Saturday's action, with the first pitch of the day scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET. Please come out and support the Chargers!!
