Ancilla College Men’s Basketball Moves to No.1 in NJCAA Division II

Donaldson, IN – When the Ancilla College men's basketball team takes the court Tuesday night to play Muskegon Community College they will be the No. 1 team in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II. The Chargers are sporting a spotless 11-0 record and can clinch the top seed in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association West Division with a victory.

During the 2017-18 season, the Chargers also climbed to the No. 1 ranking, for a two-week period. Ancilla Coach Brian Pearison was an assistant coach on that team.

"We are humbled and honored to be ranked No. 1 in the country," Pearison said. "We will continue to work hard in the classroom and on the court to make the Ancilla College community proud."

Ancilla lost in the NJCAA Region 12 championship game in 2017-18. The following year, with Pearison in charge, the Chargers place 8th in the national tournament and never cracked the top five in rankings.

Four games remain in the regular season for Ancilla. They have two MCCAA West Conference games remaining and two MCCAA non-conference games against teams from two other divisions.
