The Marian University Ancilla men's basketball team left Charger Arena Tuesday night having claimed their first win of the young season, pushing their record to 1-2 on the year. The Chargers used a 42-to-30 rebound advantage, plus a 9-to-2 advantage in steals to help secure the win.

While the Chargers won by 13 points, the lead was just one point heading into the locker room at halftime. But MUAC picked it up in the second half, eventually extending their lead to 13 points for the final margin.

6-3 Sophomore guard Ben Jones was instrumental in the win, scoring 19 points and pulling down 9 rebounds. He was an efficient 9-12 from the field, 1-1 from downtown, plus 5 of his 9 rebounds came at the offensive end of the floor. Sophomore guard Willie Reece added 12 points, while Freshman guard Kameron Hordge also scored in double figures with 11 points. Freshman forward Jayden Sanders posted 10 rebounds, 5 of which came at the offensive end of the floor keeping possessions alive. Takari Jones and James Sinclair shared scoring honors for the visitors, each netting 11 points in the contest.

The Chargers now head to Port Huron, Michigan, where they will participate in the Skippers Basketball Invitational at St. Clair County Community College. They begin play this Friday, November 17th, with a 4:00 p.m. ET matchup against Lakeland Community College out of Kirtland, Ohio.
