Saturday afternoon, the Marian University Ancilla men's basketball team played their third game in three days, and fifth game in seven days, winning their third in a row, 63-56, over Illinois Central College.

Freshman forward Jayden Sanders continued his strong play in the starting lineup, while Freshman guard Kameron Hordge also continued his strong contributions off the bench. Sanders was responsible for 19 points and 7 rebounds, while knocking down an efficient 8-13 from the field. Hordge scored 15 points while knocking down 3-7 from long range, including a first half streak where it seemed like he couldn't miss for about a half dozen consecutive possessions. The Chargers also got 11 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds from Freshman guard Marcellous Boyd.

Illinois Central got a strong contribution from LaColis AshbyJr., who led all scorers with 21 points on 10-14 from the field. Ashby added 6 rebounds. Emaryon Byrd helped out with 12 points and 6 rebounds of his own.

The Chargers continue their consecutive game stretch, playing their fourth game in four days later this afternoon, as they host the Junior Varsity team from Indiana Tech at Charger Arena. Please come out and support the Chargers!!
