Chargers Stay Hot, Win at Harper College

The Marian University Ancilla men's basketball team took to the road Thursday, traveling to Harper College where they hoped to continue their winning ways. Not only did they extend their win streak to five games, but they did so in impressive fashion.

The Chargers had an explosive first half, outscoring the Hawks 43-18 in the first twenty minutes. As they worked deep into their bench in the second half, they maintained their double-digit lead, winning by a 19-point final margin, 72-53. The Chargers shot 43% from 3-point range, they assisted on 21 of their 28 made baskets, and they won the rebounding edge 39-28 in the contest.

6-5 Freshman forward Jayden Sanders continued his strong play this season, scoring 19 points on 8-9 shooting, while also pulling down 8 rebounds and handing out 4 assists. 6-2 Freshman guard Marcellous Boyd joined him in double figures, scoring 16 points of his own, including knocking down all four of his 3-point attempts, plus he added 4 assists as well. 6-7 Freshman forward Clayton Bubash scored just one bucket, but he pulled down 11 rebounds in the win.

The Hawks got 18 points from James Sinclair, while Takari Jones added 10 points and 7 rebounds in defeat.

The Chargers have some time off now, as they don't play again until Saturday, December 16th. That is a home matchup with Indiana Elite Prep, and tip time is set for 3:00 p.m. ET. Please come out to Charger Arena and support the men's basketball team!!
