Chargers Enter Break on a 6-Game Streak!!

Coming into Saturday's matchup with Indiana Elite Prep, the Marian University Ancilla Chargers men's basketball team had won five in a row. With more than a week between games, they pulled off a nice win behind a strong second half at both ends of the floor, finishing with a 75-57 triumph. The Chargers now enter their holiday break with a 7-5 record.

The first half saw a lot of back and forth against Indiana Elite Prep, and the teams entered the locker room at halftime knotted at 34 points apiece. But the second have saw a concerted effort defensively by the Chargers, limiting Indiana Elite Prep to just 23 points over the final 20 minutes, while putting up 41 points of their own in the half.

Sophomore guard Willie Reece had one of his best shooting performances of the season, knocking down 11-17 shots and scoring 24 points in the contest. Fellow Sophomore guard Ben Jones had a nice all-around game, contributing 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals to the victory, while Freshman guard Marcellous Boyd also scored in double figures with 17 points. Boyd added a productive 8 rebounds and 5 assists as well.

The Chargers now have some time off and will wait until Wednesday, January 3rd, when they travel to Illinois Central College for their next game. That contest is currently slated for an 8:30 p.m. ET tip. In the meantime, the Charger men would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season!!
