The Marian University Ancilla men's basketball team spent Saturday afternoon honoring their Sophomores during "Sophomore Day", then took to the floor to face MCCAA rival Lake Michigan College. They gave the fans quite the entertaining game, extending 15 extra minutes to triple overtime, before falling to the Red Hawks, 99-92 in 3OT.

On the whole, the Chargers played much better and made big shots to continue extending the game. However, in the final extra period, an administrative technical foul was called for hanging on the rim, which helped Lake Michigan extend their lead for good. Additionally, in a tightly contested game, the Red Hawks were able to find 12 more points at the free throw line than the Chargers.

Sophomore DeAndre Coleman was strong for the Chargers, scoring 24 points, knocking down 5 of his 11 3-point attempts, and grabbing 6 rebounds. Freshman Clayton Bubash provided 17 points and 8 rebounds up front, while Sophomore Ben Jones tossed in 15 points, collected 7 rebounds, and handed out 3 assists.

Kanden Davis came off the bench to lead Lake Michigan with 27 points, including scoring 14 points at the line. Skylar Samuel scored 19 points and collected 9 caroms, while Jailen Campbell posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The athletic department would like to again recognize, thank, and congratulate Willie ReeceBen JonesClayton BubashDeAndre Coleman, and Aaron Clark, plus Sophomore cheerleaders Andrea AlvaradoCamryn Buchert, and Autumn Garling for their contributions as student-athletes at Marian University Ancilla.
