Strong Season Ends With Awards

While every season must eventually come to an end, the nice part about posting a 23-9 record is that people notice. On Wednesday afternoon, the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) and NJCAA Region 12 announced their Men's Basketball Award winners, and Marian University Ancilla saw four players honored for their strong seasons. Below is a look at each of those four young men, and which awards they received. Congratulations gentlemen on an outstanding year!! The entire Charger community is proud of you!!

Jordan Woods:
- Named to the Region 12 Division II All-Region Team
- Named to the All-MCCAA Team
- Named to the MCCAA Western Division First Team
- Named to the MCCAA Western Division All-Freshman Team
- 2023 graduate of Hammond's Central High School
- averaged 18.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 3.0 steals per game

Jayden Sanders:
- Named to the MCCAA Western Division Second Team
- 2023 graduate of Evansville's Francis Joseph Reitz High School
- averaged 12.9 points and 7.9 rebounds, while shooting 49% from the field

Matt King:
- Named to the MCCAA Western Division Third Team
- Named to the MCCAA Western Division All-Freshman Team
- 2024 graduate of Hammond's Central High School
- averaged 13.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.3 steals per game

Dante Porch:
- Named MCCAA Western Division Honorable Mention
- 2022 graduate of Indianapolis' Pike High School
- averaged 11.9 points and 5.2 rebounds, while shooting 54% from the field
