MUAC Bowling Begins Season at Home

The Marian University Ancilla men's and women's bowling teams began their seasons by hosting the MUAC Charger Invitational on Friday at Quick's Lanes in Plymouth, Indiana. With "new" Head Coach Mark Ringenberg at the helm, both teams showed a lot of promise for future events.

The men's team finished in 4th Place out of the five teams, scoring a team total of 2547. Sophomore Dylan Pohl was outstanding for the Chargers, finishing second overall with a score of 580, just 22 pins behind winner Trey Richmond (602) of Jackson College. Pohl also fought until the end with the best single-game score at the event, rolling a 233 in his final round. Charger Freshman Eli Costello finished just outside of the Top-15, bowling a 451 overall with a high game of 201. Jackson College was the event winner, scoring a total of 4326.

The women's team finished in 3rd Place out of the five teams, posting a score of 2304. Freshman Allyson Lawson was incredible for the Chargers, placing as the individual winner with a total score of 538. Lawson also set the tone from the beginning with a high game of 230 in her opening round. Freshman Catelyn Naragon also just missed finishing in the Top-15, scoring a 373 overall, with a high game of 165. Jackson College was the women's event winner, scoring a total of 3750.

The Charger bowling teams are back in action this Friday, January 12th, when they head to Muskegon Community College. Good luck to the bowling team, and please come out and support them if you are able!!
