Friday, the Marian University Ancilla Men's & Women's Bowling teams began their 2024-2025 seasons by hosting the MUAC Invitational at Quick's Lanes in Plymouth, Indiana. Your Chargers, along with the Jackson Jets, the Kellogg Bruins, the Montcalm Centurions, and the Muskegon Jayhawks all brought teams in both sports to open the new year. Jackson Community College was dominant in the event, as they annually have top-level teams. The Jets won the Men's event with a total score of 4402, 365 more pins than second place. The Jets also won the Women's event with a total score of 4158, 470 more pins than second place.
As far as individuals go, Kyle Sanderson of Muskegon had the high game for Men with an impressive 243, while Max Schafran of Jackson had the best 3-game series, bowling a 645. Charger Sophomore Gbolahon Olatoye led the host team with a high game of 207 and a 3-game high of 598. With regards to the Women, Chloe Manifold of Jackson posted both the high single-game and the high series with outstanding scores of 257 and 663, respectively. Sophomore Sophie Willey topped the Charger Women with a high game of 137 and a 3-game high of 368.
