Marian Univesity Ancilla Freshman golfer Joshua Kling had an outstanding Spring on the links, and this week he was rewarded for his efforts. The Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) announced their all-conference teams for the Spring of 2024, and Kling was honored by being named to the MCCAA Western Conference All-Freshman Team.

Kling began his year with his two highest scores coming in the first month of the season. After that, it seemed like he was on cruise control, with none of his final six rounds eclipsing an 83.

The rookie, from nearby Bremen, Indiana, shot a 73 on April 26th at the Moncalm Invitational, followed by a 77 at his home course of Swan Lake (5/2/24), then a 75 at the Glen Oaks Invitational (5/8/24). He finished the year with a solid showing at the Region XII Invitational May 13th & 14th, shooting an 81, an 83, and another 83, for a 3-round average of 82.3, placing him in a tie for 28th overall.
