For the second time in 11 days, the Charger Men's Soccer team faced off against conference foe, Lake Michigan College. The Charger men followed up a 10-0 win on August 27th with a 4-0 win today to move their record to 3-0-1 and 2-0 in the MCCAA. Wednesday's matchup saw the 1st half end with neither team able to find the back of the net. The 2nd half was a different story as the Chargers scored 4 times to secure the win. Yovani Navarette got the scoring started in the 53rd minute on an assist from Damian Vargas. Just 2 minutes later, Kevin Cruz found the back on the net on an assist from Navarette to stretch the lead to 2-0. Dalian Leach provided insurance in the form of goals at the 62nd and 64th minutes, both on assists from Bryce Taberski to round out the scoring at 4-0. Fernando Salazar and David Barraso combined on the shutout in goal for the Chargers. The men will return to action on Satruday at Schoolcraft College with a 3:00 start time.
