Men's Soccer Welcomes Coach Roque

Friday afternoon, the Marian University Ancilla College men's soccer team welcomed Coach Elmer Roque to the coaching staff as an assistant coach. Coach Roque comes to MUAC following a stint as the Head Coach at West Noble High School, where those Chargers (yes, they are also aptly named the Chargers) finished the 2023 Fall season with a 12-5-3 record and a Sectional Championship.

Prior to his time at West Noble, Coach Roque was an Assistant Coach at his alma mater, Argos Community High School. During his time at Argos, the Dragons won six Sectional Championships, three Regional Championships, and a pair of Semi-State Championships, to go along with a 2020 State Runner-Up finish, as well as the 2019 Class 1A State Championship.

In his own words, Coach Roque exclaimed, "I'm looking forward to being a part of this program. It's a big step forward in my coaching career. I have no doubt that Coach Weiss and I together can take this program to the next level." MUAC Head Coach Kirk Weiss included, "Adding someone like Coach Roque and his winning background instantly adds a ton to our program. I've known about Coach Roque for a long time, and after meeting him and (having) a few conversations, I knew he would be huge for us. With us bringing him on now, he will be a huge part in Spring ball for us, and (in) recruiting next year's class."

Athletic Director Kyle Allison and the entire MUAC athletic department welcome Coach Elmer Roque to the program, and we are excited about what the future holds for Charger men's soccer!!
