After moving to 5-2 on the season, the Marian Ancilla Men's Soccer team (5-4, 0-3) had a pair of tough MCCAA matchups this week, falling on Saturday to Grand Rapids Community College, 1-0. The Chargers managed to post similar shooting numbers to the Raiders, but in the end, Grand Rapids' single goal was enough to keep them undefeated (2-0-1) in conference play.

Head Coach Kirk Weiss reemphasized the strength of the conference and how missing on opportunities can affect outcomes. "We were able to control every facet of the game except the final score. We put ourselves in positions to score but failed to. In this conference, you have to finish when give the opportunity, and in the last two games we didn't." He continued, "when you play the top three teams in the conference in your first four games, it shows you what you need to work on."

As for what's ahead, Coach Weiss pointed out, "there's a lot of season to go, so we will make adjustments, but it would be nice to go on a run to close out the season. I truly believe this team can do that."

The Chargers are back at it Friday, October 4th, when they travel to Chesterton, Indiana, to face Fairhaven Baptist College in the second half of a back-to-back arrangement. The two teams met at MUAC on August 30th, with Marian Ancilla securing the 7-0 victory. The start time for this coming Friday is set for 6:00 p.m. ET. Please come out and support the Chargers!!
