Ancilla Softball Inks Ben Davis' Wilbur

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – Ben Davis High School senior Emily Wilbur recently signed her NJCAA Letter of Intent to play softball for Ancilla College in the 2012-2013 season.

Wilbur, an outfielder for the Giants, has earned her varsity letter all four seasons in softball and has a total seven varsity letters in athletics. She was named to the Metropolitan Indiana Conference Honorable Mention team last season while being involved in DECA (International Association of Marketing Students) and an Evening of Excellence. Wilbur is also an AVID tutor and Academic Giant.

"I wanted to attend a small school where I could continue to play ball," said Wilbur. "Ancilla is a great fit."

While at Ancilla, Wilbur will be pursuing a degree in Exercise Science with the eventual goal of getting a degree in Physical Therapy.

"I'm excited that Emily chose Ancilla," started Ancilla coach Scott Reese. "I'm looking forward to seeing this fantastic young woman get the opportunity to shine at the next level. She will add some speed to our lineup and help fill the holes we have due to graduation. I'm glad Emily is going to be part of the Ancilla softball family."

Emily is the daughter of Tim and Laura Wilbur of Indianapolis.
