Chargers Begin Extended Weekend at Lake Michigan

Friday afternoon, the Marian University Ancilla softball team began a stretch of six games to be played over four days. They began their play at Lake Michigan College, falling to the Red Hawks twice, 8-0 and 19-1. Below is a look at some highlights from Friday's games.

Game-1 (L 8-0): The Chargers struggled to score in this one, though they did see Freshmen Abigail HeastonAbby WittAmbrosia Mason, and Justice Billingsley all reach safely via hits. Mason's base knock came in the double variety while the other three were all singles. Billingsley (0-4) pitched the entire 4.2 innings and was credited with the loss.

Game-2 (L 19-1): The second game of the day was an offensive outburst by the Red Hawks, scoring 19 total runs, including 10 runs in the 3rd inning alone. Heaston (0-5) took the loss in this one. The aforementioned Witt had two of the team's three hits, one of which was a double, and she drove in the lone run of the game. Freshman Alyssa Mulbarger had the other hit and crossed the plate for the Charger score.
