Chargers Drop Two to Kalamazoo Valley

Game-1 (L 20-5): The Cougars jumped out to an 11-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning, and it was just too much to overcome for the Chargers. Marian Ancilla did plate a run in the bottom of the 1st inning, and they added four more runs in the bottom of the 5th inning, but it just wasn't enough. Freshman Abigail Heaston had a pair of hits, including a double, plus she drove in a run. Freshman Samantha Hoffman also had a pair of hits, and she drove in a run. Freshman Justice Billingsley hit a double and drove in two runs in the game. Billingsley (0-5) also pitched the entire 5.0 innings for the Chargers and was credited with the loss.

Game-2 (L 14-0): The Chargers were limited to just two hits and no other base-runners in the second outing. Freshmen Justice Billingsley and Samantha Perry were responsible for the two Charger base knocks, and Perry went on to steal 2 bases. Freshman Samantha Hoffman (1-10) pitched all 5.0 innings and was assessed the loss for the Chargers.
