PLYMOUTH, IN – By a score of 76-60, the Ancilla women's basketball team was defeated by Grand Rapids Community College.
With 34 points, Knox native, Hope Wagner accounted for over 50% of the Chargers' total points. Ancilla's defensive efforts were led by Taylor Kuhnle and Brittany Himes, as they respectively collected eight and seven rebounds.
Charger head coach Stephanie Beason commented, "We were able to do some good things against Grand Rapids. At one point we were down 29 points and in a span of four minutes, we cut their lead to eleven. We're more than capable of playing with these teams, as long as we don't get off to a slow start. We will now turn our focus to Kellogg on Monday night and work on fixing those little things that prevent us from finishing strong. "
The Lady Chargers travel to Battle Creek, Michigan tonight, January 20, 2014, as they face Kellogg Community College. They will be the first game of the men's and women's double header, with tipoff at 5:30 p.m.
