Watson's 37-Point Outburst Sparks MUAC; Chargers Win Second of the Week

Leading up to Saturday's game against Henry Ford, Charger Freshman De'Mour Watson had shown flashes of explosive play. However, her 37 points in a little over three quarters of play Saturday were as impressive as it gets, helping Marian University Ancilla to its second win in a row, defeating Henry Ford College, 73-53.

As for Watson, the 5-10 wing was an impressive 15-20 from the field, she buried her only 3-point attempt, and she was a near-perfect 6-7 from the charity stripe. She added 12 rebounds for the double-double, plus she tossed 7 assists to open teammates.

Sophomore wing Samaria Freeman was equally impressive defensively, honing in on the Hawks' top player, limiting her to just a 5-21 shooting performance, and highly contesting most shots. Freeman also scored in double figures with 13 points, plus she pulled down 7 rebounds as well.

The Chargers had one of their best offensive outings of the season to date, shooting 29-55 (52.7%) from the field and 4-11 (36.4%) from 3-point range. They also limited Henry Ford to just 31.5% shooting.

Bre'Kayla Davis highlighted the Hawk performers, scoring 25 points on 11-23 shooting, while posting a double-double with her 10 rebounds.
