Women's Bowling Finishes 3rd At NJCAA Region XII Tournament

The Marian University Ancilla Women's Bowling Team competed in the NJCAA Region XII tournament, hosted by Mid Michigan CC and came away with a strong finish of 3rd place in the team overall standings with a combined score of 7,874.  The total left them behind only team champion, Jackson College, and 2nd place St. Clair CC.

Katherine Ford finished in 5th place overall in the Women's All-Event with a score of 1554.  She was followed closely behind by her teammate, Jasmine Huff, who finished in 6th place with a score of 1535.  Katherine and Jasmine both earned qualification for the NJCAA National Tournament which will take place in Cheektowaga, NY on March 2nd-4th.

Coach Chassity Masterson was really proud of her group's performance.  "I am really happy to see us finish the Region XII event with a 3rd place finish.  Our girls have worked very hard this season and I think that hard work paid off this weekend.  To have Katherine and Jasmine both finish in the top 6 and qualify for nationals is a big deal for our program.  I am proud of them!  Hope Walkowiak and Raven Sangster had very strong weekends for us as well.  Erin Stacy and Kayley Thornburg also had some very strong games for us to keep us in that top 3 position."

The NJCAA National Tournament information will be posted as soon as they are available.
