Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, February 29th through March 2nd, the Marian University Ancilla bowling team saw three of its team members participate in the NJCAA National Championships in Lansing, Michigan. From the men's team, Sophomore Dylan Pohl and Freshman Gbolahon Olatoye joined Freshman Allyson Lawson, from the women's team, as they headed North to familiar territory (Lansing Community College is in the Chargers' conference).

The travel was well worth it, as Dylan and Globahon teamed up in men's doubles to win the National Championship for the event!! The pair combined to score a 1207 overall, winning the title by 19 pins! Rock Valley College in Illinois finished second with a score of 1188, while Schoolcraft College from Michigan finished third with a score of 1177. Schoolcraft is also in the Chargers' conference, giving the Michigan Community College Athletic Association two teams in the top-3 for the event!

Additionally, all three bowlers qualified to participate in the individual competitions for their respective sports. Dylan Pohl averaged a 192.9 over his 12 games, placing him 5th overall out of 145 men's singles. That 5th Place finish makes Dylan an NJCAA All-American!!

Gbolahon Olatoye averaged 172 in men's singles, placing him 37th overall out of 145 men's singles bowlers, while Allyson Lawson averaged a 162.3 in women's singles, placing her 30th out of 97 female bowlers.

Congratulations to all three of our bowlers who qualified for the National competition, and the athletic department is very proud of you for your representation of Marian University Ancilla and Charger Athletics!!
