Last Saturday, November 9th, the Marian Ancilla Wrestling team traveled to the Detroit area to participate in the Hawks Open. While they did not post a team score due to too few participants, they did manage to show a great deal of improvement from their first match to the second.

Sophomore Heavyweight Dennis Weston finished second in his weight class, pinning each opponent until the championship match. In the finals, Weston fell by decision, 5-1. Congratulations, Dennis, on a nice run!

Freshmen Dyson Adkins and Sonny Gilbert showed a lot of growth from their first time out until this past weekend, but both fell just short of placement in Michigan.

The Wrestlers now have some time off to continue their improvements. They don't wrestle again until December 7th, when they head to Indianapolis to partake in the Little State Open, hosted by the University of Indianapolis. Please come out and support the Chargers, if you are able!!
