Women's Soccer Celebrates Sophomores but Drops Final Match to Jackson

The MUAC women's soccer team took to the pitch one final time yesterday afternoon, unfortunately falling to the Jackson Jets, 4-1. The Chargers were on the defensive much of the contest, as evidenced by Freshman goalkeeper Sophie Willey's 23 saves. The lone Charger goal came when Sophomore defender Roxie Foerg found Freshman midfielder Melania Granger for a nice score. Foerg was credited with the assist.

Before the matinee kickoff, the Charger faithful celebrated the contributions of the nine Sophomores on the roster. The faculty and staff of Marian University Ancilla would like to thank all of those Sophomores for their efforts on the field and in the classroom.

Looking forward to the future, but appreciative of the present, Head Coach Destiny Fulmer shared some final words for this season, "It might not have been the result we wanted, but the atmosphere for Sophomore Day was the best it has been all year. I am proud of the fight this group continues to give and the ability to find the back of the net. I am thankful for this group of Sophomores who stuck with us through the changes, making my first year as Head Coach memorable. (I am) excited to get back at it in the Spring and prepare for next season!"
