Women's Track & Field First Stop: Polar Bear Invitational

The Marian University Ancilla Track & Field season got started on Friday & Saturday, March 22nd & 23rd, as they traveled to Marion, Indiana, to participate in the Polar Bear Invitational, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University. Below is a look at some of the highlights from the Charger women's performances.

- Sophomore Lucy Lillis placed 15th in the women's steeple chase, with a time of 17:54. Lillis also placed 20th in the javelin throw, with a distance of 21.74 meters.

- Sophomore Sam Benninghoff was another Charger participant in the javelin, finishing 29th with a throw of 10.52 meters.

- Sophomore Grace Cygan participated in the shot put, placing 30th overall. She did so in a personal best distance of 6.75 meters, and she shattered her previous top mark by more than three feet!!

- Freshman Sarah Tepp placed 2nd in her heat in the 200 meters, and she finished 36th overall with a time of 30.38 seconds. Tepp also placed 31st overall in the 400 meters, recording a time of 1:13.

While the MUAC Track & Field team doesn't have any home meets, they do have some close to campus, some short drives depending on which direction you are coming from. You can access their schedule HERE!! Please come out and support the Chargers when you are able!!
