Lillis Sets New Personal Best in Indianapolis

Thursday, the Marian University Ancilla Track & Field team traveled to Indianapolis to participate in the Knights Open at Marian University. Below is a quick highlight of the top performances by the Charger women's team.

- Sophomore Lucy Lillis of Moores Hill, Indiana, continued her strong performances in the Javelin. The Milan High School graduate threw for a new personal best of 24.49 meters, placing her 11th overall in the event.

- Sophomore Samaria Freeman of Gary, Indiana, had a nice double-dip in the Long Jump and the 100 meters. In the Long Jump, the Thea Bowman graduate leapt to a distance of 4.35 meters, which was good enough for 13th Place. As for the 100 meters, Freeman ran a 13.2 second race, placing her 18th overall.

- Central Indiana resident Sarah Tepp, a Freshman and Beech Grove gradaute, respresented the Chargers in the 200 meters. The former Hornet turned in a race of 30.02 seconds, helping her finish 28th overall.

Congratulations to those three and the entire team for a nice day in Indy!! The Track & Field team returns to action this Saturday when they attend the Manchester Invitational at Manchester University. Please come out and support these student-athletes, if you are able!!
