Lady Chargers Put up Fight on Sophomore Night

     Plymouth, IN – It was not a win, but it was a very good fight.  The Ancilla College volleyball team played its' best match of the season Tuesday night losing 1-3 to Lake Michigan College. They came within a couple of points of forcing a game five on Sophomore Night, their last home game of the season.

    The Lady Chargers opened with a 25-20 win, and then fell in a tough second set 23-25.  Set three was a disaster as they lost 12-25. In the fourth set, they came from three back to tie the set at 21. They then took a lead of 23-22, but could not hold on as the Red Hawks took the match 26-24.

    Olivia Schwab led the team with 12 kills and 3 solo blocks. Alexa Kilmartin had 20 digs, 25 assists and 2 serving aces. Olivia Feltenberger and Gabby Thomas had 12 digs each and Odyssey Whitcomb had a season high five kills. Juanita Tate returned to the court briefly after having a high ankle sprain a couple of weeks ago. 

   The Lady Chargers will travel to play Grand Rapids Community College on Friday in two matches, one being a make-up from earlier in the season.  March 26th they conclude their season at No. 14 Muskegon Community College.
