Sunday morning, the Charger Volleyball team returned to the court for the second day of the South Suburban showcase. With a handful of players missing due to injury or illness, they had a tough time dealing with Milwaukee Area Technical College and Spoon River College, falling 3-0 each time. Below is a quick summary of each match.

vs. MATC (L 3-0; 14-25, 13-25, 12-25): The Chargers battled in the morning contest, posting double-figure points each game. MATC, however, played a very fast yet efficient style, finding MUAC's weaknesses quickly and exploiting them. The Chargers did learn how to make adjustments throughout the match, though. Freshman Kylie Lane (.364) and Sophomore Katelyn Bryan (.333) put together nice hitting games for Marian Ancilla.

vs. Spoon River (L 3-0; 11-25, 11-25, 4-25): By the afternoon and fourth game of the weekend, MUAC was down another player and playing against probably their toughest opponent. Spoon River was very efficient with their play and found holes in the Charger defense. They also communicated well throughout. Freshman Kaitlynn Kelderhouse led the Chargers in hitting (.235) this time around.

The Marian Ancilla Volleyball team (1-7) begins their MCCAA (Michigan Community College Athletic Association) play this week, as they host Southwestern Michigan (10-3) Thursday evening at the LifePlex in Plymouth. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. Please come out and support the Chargers!!
