Stars Align Versus Chargers

Thursday evening, the Marian Ancilla Volleyball team took on the Lansing Community College Stars at the Lansing, Michigan, campus. Despite a large & loud crowd that was heavily tilted in Lansing's favor, the Chargers didn't let that deter them and battled from beginning to end. Still, though, the Stars proved to be too much, winning 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-15).

Sophomore Sarah Tepp was very good for the Chargers, posting a strong hitting output (.700). Redshirt Freshman Kylee Saylor put together another solid hitting game as well (.250). Freshman Kylie Lane led MUAC defensively, committing just four errors on 25 serve-receive chances.

Charger Head Coach Heaven Donovan had a lot to share following the match. She began with, "our team played good volleyball. These girls played hard and fought for every point." She continued, "Lansing is a powerful team offensively, but our girls made sure to go down swinging and kept great attitudes & energy until the very end."

The Marian Ancilla Volleyball team is back in action next week with three contests. Monday, the Chargers head to Bethel University in nearby Mishawaka, Indiana, as they take on the Pilot JV team at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Chargers host MCCAA foe Kellogg Community College at the LifePlex at 6:30 p.m., then Thursday they travel to MCCAA rival Kalamazoo Valley Community College for another 6:30 p.m. start. Good luck to the ladies on a big week next week!!
