For the third time in four nights, the Marian Ancilla Volleyball team took to the court, this time Thursday evening at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Battling fatigue, the Chargers fell to the Cougars, 3-0 (25-10, 25-13, 25-13).
"Kalamazoo Valley uses a fast offense and moves the ball around well," noted MUAC Head Coach Heaven Donovan. "That, coupled with the fact the gymnasium was very warm, caused us to tire much quicker than normal."
Despite the loss, Freshmen Kayla Ford-Harvey and Emma LaPato put together nice efforts for the Chargers. The 6-foot Ford-Harvey managed to hit the ball well (.429), while LaPato continued her strong play defensively, committing just three errors in 20 serve-receive opportunities.
The Chargers do have a nine-day stretch now where they only play once, Tuesday (10/8), at Southwestern Michigan College. Start time for that contest is set for 6:30 p.m. Please come out and support the Volleyball team, if you are able!!
