Tuesday night, the Marian Ancilla Volleyball team hosted the Glen Oaks Vikings in an MCCAA conference rematch from September 19th. Playing their fourth match in as many days proved to be tough on the Chargers, as they battled but fell, 3-1, to the Vikings at the LifePlex in Plymouth.

Glen Oaks came out aggressive, taking the first two sets 25-18 and 25-20. However, the Chargers made the Vikings earn each point, eventually overtaking them and winning the third set, 25-20. But the Vikings answered back in the fourth and final set, 25-19, ultimately taking the match.

Charger Sophomore Sarah Tepp (.286) was the leading hitter on the evening, while Freshman Kaitlynn Kelderhouse posted 12 assists. Sophomore Brooke Schroeder continued her strong play defensively, committing just 3 errors in 22 serve-receive attempts, while adding 13 digs.

Marian Ancilla Head Coach Heaven Donovan pointed towards fatigue as a catalyst Tuesday evening. "Glen Oaks came ready to play, but our girls fought to make sure nothing was easy for them. After losing the first two sets, we found something that worked in the third set, but as our girls were starting to get tired, Glen Oaks used that to their advantage and put the ball down at every opportunity to finish the game."

The Chargers are at the midpoint of a 4-game home stand, and they continue this stretch at the LifePlex Thursday evening when they host Lake Michigan College. The first serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., so please come out and support the ladies, if you are able!!
