Friday morning, the Marian Ancilla Women's Cross Country team took to the course at Grand Woods Park in Lansing, Michigan. Of the six MCCAA Western Conference schools able to field full teams, the Charger women finished in 6th Place overall.
Freshman Ciara Bonner picked up the pace from her first race of the year, posting a time of 22:37.4 in the women's 5k run, once again setting the Charger women's school record, passing her own time set just a couple of weeks back at St. Clair County. Additionally, Ciara finished in 16th Place overall, which is also the highest placement ever by an MUAC female runner at a conference event. Congratulations Ciara!!
Sophomore Lucy Lillis (28:07.4) of Moores Hill, Indiana, and Freshman Chloe Szumanski (28:58.0) of nearby LaPorte, Indiana, also posted sub-29-minute times, and they finished in 34th & 35th Place, respectively.
The Women's Cross Country team is back in action on Friday, October 11th, when they travel to Mishawaka, Indiana, for the Bethel Invitational. That race is set to start at 2:30 p.m. Please come out and support the Chargers, if you are able!!
