
The Marian University Ancilla Women's Basketball team continues to roll right through their season, having defeated Grand Rapids Community College on Monday evening. The Game, originally scheduled for Wednesday, January 22nd, was postponed due to inclement weather. In the makeup last night, the Chargers used defense and rebounding, plus ball security, to pull out the 63-43 success.
The Marian Ancilla Women were 26-65 (40%) from the field, they pulled down 49 rebounds (15 offensive), and they only turned it over 9 times, while their Lady Raider counterparts posted numbers of 13-61 (21%) from the field, 39 rebounds, and 13 turnovers.
Sophomore wing De'Mour Watson ((21 points, 11 rebounds) and Freshman wing Santana Eubanks (15 points, 13 rebounds) each posted double-doubles to help lead the Chargers on the court. Freshman guard Annika Davis (12 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists) and Sophomore guard Nasiya Gause (11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists) also scored in double figures.
The Chargers continue their busy week tomorrow, as they host Lake Michigan College in another MCCAA matchup. That game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the LifePlex, so please come out and support the ladies, if you are able!!
